We Want To Help You Get
At Flourish Mental Health, you matter. We want you to spend time on what works and help you get the support you’ve been missing. We do this by providing individual therapy that is always backed by science, personalized for you, and delivered by exceptionally trained clinicians.
Did you know that relationship you have with your therapist is the greatest predictor of it being helpful? While we use all evidence-based therapies, the relationship is still central to the process. Finding the right fit matters. Being known and feeling understood matters. We take that very seriously and seek to ensure that your care is individualized for your personal needs.
Accessible Therapy
We want to help make therapy accessible. We do this by being in-network with insurance companies (NC State Health Plan, BCBS, Aetna, & Cigna/Evernorth) and filing claims on behalf of individuals using out-of-network benefits.

therapies we use
1. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a form of psychological treatment that focuses on identifying and changing distorted or unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. It operates on the principle that these thoughts shape our feelings and actions, and by learning to modify them, individuals can change how they feel and react to situations. The goal of CBT is to equip patients with practical coping skills and strategies to manage current problems and improve their daily functioning.
2. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an action-oriented approach that helps individuals stop avoiding or denying difficult inner emotions and instead accept them as appropriate responses to certain situations. It teaches practical mindfulness skills to change how a person interacts with their thoughts, rather than trying to change the thoughts themselves. The ultimate goal is to foster psychological flexibility, allowing individuals to clarify their personal values and take committed steps toward a rich and meaningful life, even in the presence of distress.
3. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is a specialized, structured program considered the first-line, non-medication treatment for chronic insomnia. It targets the unhelpful thoughts and behaviors that perpetuate sleep problems. Through techniques like sleep restriction, stimulus control, and cognitive restructuring, it helps individuals retrain their brain to associate the bed with sleep and develop long-term healthy sleep patterns.
4. Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is a structured, evidence-based psychological treatment specifically designed to help individuals recover from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) by focusing on how they think about their trauma. The therapy helps identify and challenge unhelpful beliefs, known as "stuck points," related to the traumatic event, such as self-blame or a damaged sense of safety or trust.
5. Prolonged Exposure (PE)
Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy is an evidence-based form of cognitive behavioral therapy specifically designed to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) by helping individuals gradually confront the memories and situations they have been avoiding. It involves two main components: repeatedly recounting the traumatic memory in a safe environment (imaginal exposure) and gradually facing real-life triggers or situations that are objectively safe but still cause distress (in vivo exposure).
6. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills (DBT Skills)
DBT skills are a core set of practical strategies taught within Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help individuals manage overwhelming emotions, reduce self-destructive behaviors, and navigate interpersonal conflicts more effectively. These skills are organized into four key modules: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. The ultimate goal is to equip individuals with concrete tools to build a life they consider worth living by balancing acceptance and change. Please note: we are not a full-model DBT program and do not offer individual DBT therapy at this time. We do, however, regularly incorporate DBT skills into therapy with our clients.
7. Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a person-centered, collaborative counseling style designed to help individuals resolve ambivalence and find their own internal motivation to change a specific behavior. Rather than imposing advice, a practitioner uses empathy and a guiding conversational style to elicit the person's own reasons for change, building their confidence and commitment. The goal is to empower the individual to take self-directed action toward their own values and goals, typically in areas like health or addiction recovery.
Emotional health doesn’t live in a vacuum—it’s shaped by the roles you hold, the pressure you carry, and the care you give to others. Our work supports people navigating complex emotional landscapes, whether you’re holding space for others, facing life transitions, or trying to make sense of feelings that feel overwhelming or unfamiliar.
We meet you where you are and move at a pace that feels safe and sustainable, offering thoughtful, evidence-based care designed to help you feel more regulated, supported, and understood—over time, and with intention.
what we treat
Did you know that “supportive only” therapy can actually do harm? It’s helpful while you’re in it, but when the therapist is gone so is the support. At Flourish, support is the foundation from which we we teach evidence-based skills that will be with you even when your therapist isn’t.
